新入生 Pratiwi tritami (M1)
Pratiwi Tri Utami is the name which is given by my parents to me. My friends usually call me Tiwi. But, it is difficult for Japanese for saying my name actually. In Japanese pronunciation, my name becomes プラティウィ トゥリ ウタミ. It will be pronounced as Puratiui Turi Utami. But, if it is so difficult, Utami will be okay for me. Then, I come from Bangka Belitung Province of Indonesia. I was born in a small island, Bangka island, near Sumatra island exactly in the south of Sumatra on December 22nd, 1995. Bangka Island is famous in Indonesia although many Indonesian people do not know where exactly it is. It has many beautiful beaches and it is the place where the movie ‘Rainbow Troops’ is taken place. I was raised in that island with my sister and my brother. I am the first child in my family and I have only one sister and one brother. My father has already retired last year and my mother is a housewife.
In 2013, after graduating from vocational high school, Iwent to Yogyakarta to take my bachelor degree. I was accepted in Universitas
Ahmad Dahlan, an Islamic private university. My major was English education. During studying in Universitas Ahmad Dahlan, I worked as an English teacher, lecturers assistant of English Education Department, and also a translator. I was teaching in some Islamic private schools in Yogyakarta as a freelance teacher and door to door English teaching service. Then, I completed my bachelor degree in education in 2017. My research was about to find out a politeness strategy of request which is used by a law advisor in a judge session. It is a linguistic analysis.
Besides, my hobbies are reading, writing, travelling, and hiking. During studying in Yogyakarta, my friends and I were used to have camping and climbing mountains around Java island. I climbed Andong mountain and Merbabu mountain of Central Java province in 2014, Prau mountain of Central Java province and Lawu mountain of East Java Province in 2015, and Ungaran mountain of Central Java province and Api Purba mountain of DI Yogyakarta province in 2016. Thus, I love outdoor activity.
Moreover, after completing my bachelor degree, I decided to continue my master degree. Japan was my choice because Japan is wonderful country. It has a lot of cultures and the Japanese people are also very kind. Then, I chose Hiroshima University for continuing my study. Because I have many Indonesian friends here and also Muslim community in Saijo. Besides, by reading the history of Hiroshima University, it is one of a good universities in Japan. Becoming one of the students of Hiroshima University under Kusakabe Sensei, I expect I can gain more knowledge and experience.
